Start your journey to a fuller life
Dr. Will Nields, MD practices research-based functional medicine in Jacksonville Beach. He has been a physician for twenty four years, most of it in emergency medicine, intensive care and twelve years of primary care.
Headwaters Longevity is the practice he built out of that, for people who are dissatisfied with the medical industrial complex and want care tailored to their body, so the years ahead of them are fuller ones.
Telehealth is available in roughly forty states.
Hello, I'm Dr. Will Nields, MD
I spent most of my career in the places where people arrive already in trouble: the operating room, an emergency department running something like a hundred patients a day, the intensive care unit, years of correctional medicine, and then twelve years of primary care with the same families coming back every season.
Thousands of people have sat across from me. After enough of them return with the same problems over and over, you begin to see that something is broken in the medical system. The current system treats symptoms, not patients.
Headwaters is what I built instead. A small practice, enough time in the room to hear a whole history, and a plan that goes after the cause. If this is not the right place for what brought you here, I would rather tell you so on the first call. You can read more about my background here.

Custom treatment plans for every patient
Precision medicine starts from your own biology. We measure how you are aging at a cellular level, how your metabolism and blood vessels are holding up, what your hormones are doing over time, and what thirty years of living somewhere has left in you.
Set the goal
Before he measures anything, Dr. Nields asks what you want your life to look like. Without that, a plan is only a list of tests.
Measure your own biology
Advanced testing covers biological aging, cellular and mitochondrial function, metabolic and vascular health, hormones, genetic and epigenetic markers, and the load from everything you have been exposed to.
Strengthen the foundations
Nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, toxin burden and targeted supplementation account for most of the result. Testing shows which of them is costing you.
Narrow it to what moves the needle
Dr. Nields tells you which two or three things would change your trajectory the most, and which can wait a year.
Build your plan
Dr. Nields writes your plan from your own results and the latest research, and he is plain about what the evidence supports and what it does not.
Retest and adjust
Dr. Nields retests your numbers and rebuilds the plan around what actually changed.
Three levels of care that fit your needs
Three ways to work together at the practice in Jacksonville Beach, separated by how much of the year we stay with you. Full Concierge is capped at fifty members. Pricing is covered on your call.

Hear what the care is like

He runs a business and had not had a real physical since his forties. He talks about what it was like to have someone read a whole panel back to him.

She had been told her labs were normal for three years running. Her first visit here ran an hour and a half, and she left with the findings written down.
Book a 1:1 conversation with Dr. Nields
About fifteen minutes on the phone. You tell us what brought you here, we explain how the practice works, and you decide from there.
- Step 1
The discovery call
Fifteen minutes with our wellness coordinator. You say what brought you here, they tell you how the practice works and what it costs, and if it sounds like a fit they will walk you through which level of care suits you.
- Step 2
Your labs
A blood draw before your first appointment, so your results are in front of Dr. Nields in the room when you sit down.
- Step 3
Your baseline visit
An extended appointment with Dr. Nields, reading your panel against your whole history.
- Step 4
Your plan, in writing
What the testing found, what he thinks is driving it, and the first two or three things he would change. In plain language, yours to keep.
- Step 5
The follow through
Revisited as your numbers move, with an IV treatment at each visit and coaching in between.

What a longevity workup actually measures
A standard physical is built to find disease. A longevity workup is built to find direction. Here is what changes about the testing, and why.

PlaceholderUnderstanding your results
Your labs came back normal and you still feel off
Normal describes the population you were compared against. It does not describe you, and the gap between those two things explains a lot of frustration.
